GeneralJob Description
Under general direction and is responsible for the educational program within the classroom and performance and work as required by the building principal.
Qualifications- Must hold a valid certificate for the particular position in which the teacher is assuming from the State Department of Education for West Virginia.
- World Language Certification required. Spanish or ASL preferred.
- Provide specialized instruction in World Languages, ensuring each student receives the necessary attention to reach their potential.
- Record achievement under the policy set forth by school administration and report accurately.
- Maintain a professional manner in dealing with superiors, co‑workers, parents, and students.
- Complete all required reporting for the immediate supervisor.
- Assist with general supervision duties such as hall, bus, lunch duty, and other school operations as necessary.
- Carry out any other obligations the building principal determines necessary.
- Implement the teacher’s program of study.
- Foster a classroom climate conducive to learning.
- Use instructional management systems to increase student learning and maximize time on task.
- Monitor and report student progress toward learning outcomes.
- Maintain and upgrade professional skills and teaching techniques.
- Promote and maintain positive pupil‑teacher‑parent relationships.
- Maintain professional work habits and appearance.
- Incorporate differentiated instruction.
- Co‑teach when applicable.
- Implement Multi‑Tiered System of Support (MTSS) within the school/classroom.
- Integrate technology within the school/classroom.
