Special Education Teacher

Location: Spencer, WV

Position Type: Full-Time

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to meet the specific needs of students with disabilities.
• Design and deliver differentiated instruction that addresses various learning styles and abilities.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure a cohesive educational experience for students.
• Monitor and assess student progress, modifying instructional strategies as needed to support each student's growth.
• Provide support in developing social, emotional, and behavioral skills.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate regularly with parents or guardians.
• Participate in professional development opportunities and contribute to school-wide initiatives.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Special Education or a related field (Masters degree preferred).
• Valid West Virginia teaching certification with an endorsement in Special Education.
• Previous experience working with students with special needs is preferred.
• Knowledge of IEP development and special education laws and regulations.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse group of educators, families, and community members.
