Job Goal:
To achieve school/department objectives working cooperatively with teachers, other department chairpersons/curriculum coordinators and the Principal in arriving at group decisions.

Qualifications- Possess a valid West Virginia Teaching Certificate.
- Master’s Degree preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership quality.
- Full‑time assignment at the school where service is to be rendered.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with correct grammar and spelling.
- Ability to make sound, rational recommendations.
- Currently employed full time at the school.
- Meet additional qualifications outlined in the Job Description written for each school by the principal as outlined in Ohio County Board of Education Regulation 4006.13.
- Knowledge and experience in basic skill curriculum areas.
- Any combination of training and experience that would lead to successful employment as a Curriculum Coordinator/Department Chairperson.
- Coordinate the program of studies for the assigned educational level.
- Assist in the selection of materials.
- Prepare and administer the program budget as assigned.
- Facilitate staff development according to county policy.
- Establish good public and employee relations.
- Provide leadership in developing and implementing programs for students in curricular areas.
- Prepare agendas and conduct meetings as requested.
- Assist with interviews for new staff positions.
- Aid parents, faculty, and student groups in advising educational and related activities and objectives.
- Assist with the School Assistance Team.
- Write grants to support the curriculum.
- Attend Department meetings.
- Develop Management of Academic Performance Plan.
- Analyze student performance on standardized tests.
- Assist with student recognition programs.
- Additional curricular areas may be assigned.
- Maintain professional work habits.
- Maintain and upgrade professional skills.
- Maintain necessary reports, records, and inventory for proper management of the programs.
- Perform other duties assigned by the Principal or Assistant Principal.
