Residency Education Specialist

Location: Saint Paul, MN (Travel Throughout Minnesota)

Job Type: Full-Time (32 hours/week during the school year)

Salary: $54,953.60–$76,835.20 annually

The City of Saint Paul is seeking a Residency Education Specialist to join the education team at Como Park Zoo & Conservatory
. In this role, you’ll deliver engaging environmental education experiences to third-grade students through the Zoo’s Residency Program, inspiring curiosity and appreciation for the natural world while traveling to schools across Minnesota.

• Deliver hands‑on environmental education lessons focused on tropical rainforest ecosystems.
• Lead four‑day residency programs at Como Park Zoo & Conservatory and schools throughout Minnesota.
• Travel regularly across the state, including overnight trips to Greater Minnesota schools.
• Engage third‑grade students through interactive, inquiry‑based learning experiences.
• Support Como’s mission of making high‑quality environmental education accessible statewide.
• Collaborate with educators and school staff to deliver impactful programming.

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Two years of experience in formal or informal education settings.
• Valid Minnesota Class D driver’s license (or equivalent).
• Experience with one or more of the following is preferred:
• Plant and animal handling
• Early childhood development
• Classroom or organizational group instruction
