- I. Primary Function
:
Instruct students in subject matter utilizing various teaching methods, such as lecture and demonstration, with audiovisual aids and other materials to supplement presentation. - Major Classroom Responsibilities
:- Implement program of study.
- Foster a classroom climate conducive to learning.
- Utilize instructional management systems to increase student learning and maximize time on task.
- Monitor student progress toward learning outcomes.
- Maintain and upgrade professional skills.
- Promote and maintain positive pupil–teacher–parent relations.
- Maintain professional work habits.
- Professional Development
:- Participate in faculty and professional meetings.
- Attend educational conferences and teacher workshops.
- Special Assignment
:- Perform related duties such as sponsoring one or more special activities or student organizations.
- Organizational Relationships
:- Is accountable to the principal for performance of assigned duties.
- Relates role to building and system-wide programs and objectives.
- Coordinates work with members of their department.
- Performance Standards
:- In-class behavior: evidence that students have achieved established objectives.
- Out-of-class behavior: evidence of cooperative relations with colleagues and others.
- Position-Holder Qualification
:- Graduate of a four-year college.
- Function effectively as a member of an instructional team.
- Maintain strong commitment to the subject matter taught.
- Work effectively with the community.
- Ability to adapt to differences and changes in pupil characteristics.
