TITLE:
Homebound Instructor
REPORTS TO:
Director of Student Services
JOB GOAL:
To teach students according to county and state policy, mission, core beliefs, academic goals, and target areas.

- Possess a valid West Virginia Teaching Certificate.
- Completion of a successful background check.
- Ability to provide basic instruction with all levels and types of courses.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to provide differentiated instruction and intervention to students exhibiting a wide range of abilities and behaviors.
- Any additional combination of training or experience which would lead to successful employment as a Homebound Instructor.
- Adhere to all federal, state, and district laws and policies.
- Promote and adhere to the district mission, core beliefs, academic goals, and target areas.
- Demonstrate professional conduct as defined in law, policy and procedure at the state, district, and school level.
- Work closely with assigned educational staff members to maintain educational level of students receiving Homebound Instruction.
- Deliver assignments to student(s) receiving Homebound Instruction, clarify assigned teacher(s) expectations, provide the student(s) with an expected date of work completion, and return assignments completed by the student to the assigned teacher(s) in a timely manner.
- Provide regular, timely, and salient feedback to assigned teacher(s) and Director of Student Services concerning student assignments.
- Consult with parents on a regular basis regarding progress.
- Motivate and engage student(s) in learning, problem solving, and critical thinking with skills and knowledge based work.
- Understand and respond to the unique characteristics of assigned student(s).
- Establish and maintain a safe and appropriate learning environment.
- Establish and maintain learner-centered individualized practices.
- Maintain complete accurate records while documenting information appropriately.
- Work with parents, guardians, families and community entities to support student learning and well-being.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
