The City of Weston Police Civil Service Commission is accepting applications for the position of Probationary Police Officer. We are seeking dedicated, motivated individuals who are committed to protecting and serving the citizens of Weston. Applications are also welcomed from currently certified law enforcement officers interested in existing full-time or part-time opportunities.
Competitive ExaminationThe Police Civil Service Commission will conduct a competitive written examination for Probationary Police Officer applicants.

Weston Fire Department VFD, 321 Center Street, Weston, WV
Written examination scores will be available at the Weston Municipal Building within 24 hours. Applicants who successfully pass the written examination will advance to the next phase of the hiring process. A Physical Agility Test (PAT) will be scheduled at a later date.
Minimum Qualifications- Possess a high school diploma or GED.
- Have the ability to communicate effectively in both written and spoken English.
- Be a citizen of the United States by birth or naturalization.
- Have no felony convictions or disqualifying misdemeanor convictions, including domestic violence offenses.
- Possess a valid West Virginia driver's license upon graduation from the West Virginia State Police Academy.
- Meet all qualifications established by the West Virginia Police Civil Service statutes.
- A certified copy of their birth certificate.
- A valid driver's license.
Veterans who successfully pass the written examination may receive an additional five (5) points by providing a certified copy of an Honorable Discharge (DD‑214).
Salary & BenefitsStarting salary begins at $42,500 annually prior to attending the academy, with compensation based on experience and qualifications.
