Under general supervision, performs a complete investigation of cases assigned to determine if an alleged violation of federal code, state code, and/or administrative rule or statute has occurred. Maintains a case load in which the average age does not exceed 90 working days. Ensures the evidence/information gathered is documented in the investigative file. Completes a final case report of each investigation in a timely manner.
Maintains accountability of all investigative files assigned. Assists with resolving personnel complaints. Performs related work as assigned.

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
SubstitutionAdditional experience as described below may substitute for the required training at the rate of one (1) year of experience for every thirty (30) semester hours of training.
ExperienceOne (1) year of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience in law enforcement or investigative work or in determining eligibility for credit, insurance or government programs.
Special RequirementsPossession of a valid driver's license and the availability of an automobile is required. Qualification to possess and use firearms may be required.
