Office Associate

Assure the efficient operation of the Switchboard. Monitor and assure the proper functioning of the emergency alarm system. Act as a receptionist for the hospital by greeting visitors and directing them to proper destinations. Be knowledgeable of various codes and the role of the switchboard. Monitor for the proper use and of any equipment malfunctions of the various communications systems (i.e. internal pagers, walkie-talkies, and overhead paging.

Answer phone and direct calls to correct staff members. Will perform other duties associated with the position. Mandatory overtime may be required per operational needs. Applicants selected for employment must complete a chemical urinalysis and breath analysis drug screening test. All employees shall be subject to drug and alcohol testing for probable causes as set forth in agency and bureau policies.

Applicants selected must successfully complete a background check. This is a tobacco free facility.

Sharpe, Jr. Hospital holds accreditation from The Joint Commission and certification by the Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services (CMS). The hospital offers a wide range of services to patients either committed to the hospital through civil commitment or, in the case of forensic patients, ordered through the judicial system.

Through ongoing collaboration with West Virginia University's Department of Behavioral Medicine & Psychiatry, a variety of medical and clinical professionals partner with the hospital's own staff to work diligently with patients to achieve a smooth transition back to the community after discharge.
