Job SummaryThe Lead Technology Systems Specialist (TSS) is responsible for effective provisioning, planning, implementation, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure. This individual participates in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure. This individual ensures that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to the county school system. The Lead TSS is also assigned to support and maintain local computer workstations, or other computer related systems or technologies.
QualificationsHold a minimum of an associate's degree from an accredited institution of higher education, as defined in §126-136-4.5.
Documented 3 years' experience in the following:
- Server administration
- Data Center Management
- Low Voltage system
- Network configuration and troubleshooting
- Server configuration, administration, diagnostics and performance
- Enterprise level LAN and WAN environment
- Network Switch installation and configuration
- CISCO WLAN Controller installation and configuration
- VMWare, vSphere, vCenter
- 802.11x & Wireless Access Point installation and configuration
- WAN Firewall & Filtering
- Microsoft Windows 2008 and above
- SharePoint Development
Solid understanding of the OSI or TCP/IP model
Desired Qualifications and Specialized Trainings- Experience in using VMware, vCenter, vSphere, Microsoft Server
- Experience in using firewalls and bandwidth management.
- Experience in structured cabling design and installation.
- Knowledge in using Verkada, Security Systems, and IP Phone Systems
- Experience in using various software imaging
- Experience in Classroom Management and Remote Desktop Access & Control
- Experience in Apple Mac Server OSX
- Experience in Mobile Device Management (MDM)
- Knowledge of Microsoft Hyper-V Server
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in technology support or technology-related field (preferred).
- Possesses knowledge of hardware and technical software operations for local area networks, servers and operating system software, computer workstations, iPads, peripherals, and related educational technologies
- Demonstrates ability to operate technology equipment and use standard software programs such as word processor, presentation software and spreadsheets
- Knowledge of basic hardware and software equipment
- Knowledge of backup and recovery procedures
- Ability to maintain accurate detailed records
- Ability to understand technical manuals and apply the methods to correct personal computer or LAN/WAN operational problems
- Demonstrates skills in effective communication
- Ability to work under stressful circumstances, including deadlines and interruptions.

- Works with the school principals, and school personnel to provide access to technology resources and services.
- Be responsible for the planning, designing, configuring, installing, and maintaining of all components of data center and network.
- Reporting network operational status by gathering and prioritizing information; managing projects.
- Establishes networking environment by designing system configuration; directing system installation; defining, documenting, and enforcing system standards.
- Maximizes performance by monitoring performance; troubleshooting network problems and outages; scheduling upgrades; collaborating with network architects on network optimization.
- Secures network system by establishing and enforcing policies; defining and monitoring access.
- Must have documented evidence of positive work evaluations
- Develop and maintain accurate system design maps, records, and configurations.
- Attend county, regional, state meetings as may be necessary
- Responsible for the documentation, inventory, installation, configuration, service maintenance, repairs, modifications, and upgrades on local area networks (LANs), computers, iPads, workstations, peripherals, electronic whiteboards, data projectors, operating systems, software and other technology related components
- Contacts appropriate resources (county, State Contract Vendors, warranty providers, etc.) for additional assistance;
- Assist in the process to determine and implement security policies and procedures
- Plan, test and deploy networking products, software and migrations
