Overview
HECO is seeking a detail-oriented Quality Inspector to support our manufacturing and repair operations in Wheeling, WV. This role is responsible for inspecting parts, components, and finished products to ensure compliance with company quality standards, customer specifications, and applicable industry requirements. The ideal candidate has a strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and experience working in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities- Inspect incoming materials, in-process work, and finished products to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications
- Perform visual, dimensional, and functional inspections using measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other inspection equipment
- Review work orders, drawings, specifications, and quality documentation
- Identify non-conforming materials or workmanship and document findings accurately
- Communicate quality issues clearly with production, engineering, and management teams
- Assist with root cause analysis and corrective action efforts
- Maintain inspection records and quality reports in accordance with company procedures
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to quality, safety, and efficiency
- Follow all safety policies and procedures
- High school diploma or GED required
- Previous experience as a Quality Inspector or in a quality-related role preferred
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Basic mechanical knowledge and understanding of manufacturing processes
- Comfortable using hand tools and inspection equipment
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Experience in an industrial, manufacturing, machining, or repair environment
- Familiarity with ISO or quality management systems
- Basic computer skills for documentation and reporting
- Experience with root cause analysis and corrective actions
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs as required
- Ability to work in a shop or industrial environment
