Full Time Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator
Responsibilities include operating, monitoring, maintaining a wastewater treatment facility and all its processes. Responsible for the technical aspects of the plant operations and compliance with all state and federal operating regulations. This position involves troubleshooting when necessary, managing competing demands, multi‑tasking, meeting deadlines, and occasionally working beyond normal business hours. The role also requires performing all aspects of sampling, monitoring, and testing required to maintain compliance with Federal, State, and Local regulations governing the WWT process.
Regular attendance is essential to maintaining continuity of services. This position may involve shift work, working holidays, weekends, nights and overtime on occasion.
Must be able to understand and follow oral and written instructions and to perform general computer tasks. Work is often performed outdoors with exposure to inclement weather, wastewater, mechanical, electrical, chemical and confined space hazards, offensive fumes, and excessive noise. There may be the occasional need to lift more than 50 lbs.
Required Qualifications- High school diploma or GED
- Possess a Minimum Class I Wastewater License and willingness to work to obtain Class II and III Licenses
- Driver’s License
- High level of maintenance skills with proven work ethic
- CDL
