Job Overview

The Collaborative Student Food Pantry VISTA will strengthen The Rack: WVU Student Food Pantry by expanding partnerships, improving operations, and building sustainable systems that reduce student food insecurity. The VISTA will grow community and campus collaborations, develop reliable donation and volunteer pipelines, and support long‑term resource networks that enhance food access for WVU students. The member will formalize procedures, improve training for volunteers and student workers, and streamline workflows at The Rack and Snack Rack.

They will help evaluate current systems, strengthen technology and data processes, and support plans for future pantry expansion. To enhance impact, the VISTA will build data and reporting tools, including surveys, dashboards, and templates that track usage, identify student needs, and support funding efforts. They will also help create nutrition and educational resources, collaborating with academic departments to integrate pantry‑related projects into courses and student programs.

Finally, the VISTA will assist with funding sustainability by researching grants, developing donor materials, and supporting marketing strategies that increase awareness and long‑term support for The Rack.
