Mildred Mitchell‑Bateman Hospital is searching for a dedicated Quality Assurance/Performance Improvement Nurse to be part of our amazing team. This position develops, implements and monitors the quality improvement plan for the hospital, evaluating the quality of patient care and patient outcomes as they relate to multidisciplinary interventions and relaying the information to the Chief Compliance Officer.
The Quality Assurance/Performance Improvement Nurse participates in the development and implementation of various activities to improve overall quality of the hospital and may be required to work holidays, weekends, and mandatory overtime during onsite surveys.
This position qualifies for an appointment incentive of $12,500 to the selected applicant who agrees to work for the facility for a minimum of twelve (12) months.
Responsibilities- Develop, implement, and monitor the quality improvement plan for the hospital.
- Evaluate the quality of patient care and patient outcomes as they relate to multidisciplinary interventions.
- Relay information to the Chief Compliance Officer.
- Participate in the development and implementation of activities to improve overall quality of the hospital.
- Work holidays and weekends as required.
- Participate in onsite surveys and perform mandatory overtime as needed.
- None required for education.
- Current West Virginia license to practice as a registered nurse.
- Three (3) years of full‑time or equivalent part‑time experience as a Registered Nurse.
- Internal applicants: one (1) year of full‑time or equivalent part‑time experience as a Registered Nurse.
- Successful completion of a chemical urinalysis and breath analysis drug and alcohol screening test.
- Must be able to work holidays and weekends.
- Must pass background screening.
Mildred Mitchell‑Bateman Hospital, located in Huntington, West Virginia, is a 110‑bed psychiatric hospital owned and operated by the West Virginia Department of Health Facilities. The hospital provides quality patient care and a safe environment for its patients, many of whom are committed through civil commitment or, in the case of forensic patients, ordered through the judicial system. As a training site for future health care professionals, the hospital offers on‑site learning experiences for physicians, nurses, practical nurses, psychologists, counselors, health care administrators, technicians, and supportive services personnel.
The hospital holds accreditation by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations and is certified by Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), collaborating with Marshall University’s Department of Behavioral Medicine & Psychiatry to support patient care and community transition after discharge.
