Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical

Wheeling, WV

Contract | Rotating Shifts | Onsite

• Provide direct patient care on a 30-bed Medical Surgical unit with a nurse-to-patient ratio of up to 1:7
• Manage and care for patients with common diagnoses including CHF, COPD, cellulitis, pneumonia, urosepsis, and AKI
• Titrate heparin drips based on aPTT results as required
• Monitor and manage patients on intermittent BiPAP; unit does not utilize ventilators
• Collaborate with PCTs and coordinate with remote monitor technicians overseeing telemetry
• Float to other units as needed based on census; travelers are floated first

• Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license (any licensing hits must be disclosed at time of submission)
• Current BLS certification (must be unexpired)
• Current NIHSS certification (must be unexpired)
• Comfort with nurse-to-patient ratios up to 1:7
• Availability to work weekends and holidays as scheduled (typically half of total weekends)

• Prior experience in a Medical Surgical setting with telemetry monitoring
• Familiarity with heparin drip titration protocols
• Experience with intermittent BiPAP management

• Work in a structured unit supported by PCTs and remote telemetry monitoring technicians
• No on-call or standby requirements, offering a more predictable scheduling experience
