Travel Nurse Source  is working with Concentric Healthcare Staffing to find a qualified IMC RN in Wheeling, West Virginia, 26003!

Registered Nurse – IMC / PCU / Stepdown (Intermediate Care Unit)

Wheeling, WV

Contract | 12-Hour Shifts | Days (with rotating night shift requirement) | Onsite

• Provide direct patient care in a 30-bed Intermediate Care Unit managing diagnoses including chest pain, rule-out MI, CHF, arrhythmias, post-pacer, pre/post cardiac catheterization, and Tikosyn therapy patients
• Independently read and interpret cardiac telemetry strips using Nihon Kohden monitoring equipment
• Titrate vasoactive and cardiac drips including Amiodarone, Cardizem, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Labetalol, Nitroglycerin, Heparin, and occasionally Lasix
• Manage radial bands and perform radial band removal; perform groin checks post-catheterization (sheath pulls not required)
• Document and manage patient care using Sunrise EMR
• Float as needed to Telemetry or Med/Surg units per staffing needs, with ratios up to 1:6 or occasionally 1:7 in Med/Surg

• Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license — any licensing history must be disclosed at time of submission
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Ability to independently read and interpret cardiac telemetry strips
• Competency in titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips
• Ability to work a rotating schedule including day and night shifts, with a minimum of 3 night shifts per 4-week schedule for day-shift staff
• Flexibility to work weekend shifts (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday are all considered weekend shifts; 4 weekend shifts required per 4-week schedule)

• Prior experience in an Intermediate Care, PCU, or Stepdown unit setting
• Familiarity with Sunrise EMR
• Experience managing patients on Tikosyn therapy or with high-flow respiratory support (Air Vo, Respironics BiPAP)

• Work in a well-supported clinical environment with Hospitalist and Intensivist coverage 24/7, an in-house IV and PICC/Midline team, Respiratory Therapy, and Pharmacy all available around the clock
• Self-scheduling is available as long as unit needs are met, with up to 4 requested days off per month
