Medical Surgical Nurse

Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult patients in a Medical Surgical unit, ensuring patient safety, comfort, and optimal recovery. Collaborate with healthcare team members to deliver high-quality, evidence-based care.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patient condition and develop individualized care plans aligned with medical orders.
• Monitor and titrate IV drips, including heparin based on lab results, as required.
• Administer medications, treatments, and provide wound care according to established protocols.
• Document patient progress accurately in electronic health records and communicate updates to the healthcare team.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, including proper use of monitoring equipment and adhering to shift and unit policies.
• Respond promptly to patient needs and emergencies, including remote monitoring and call shifts.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid RN license and current CPR/BLS certification.
• Demonstrate experience in a Medical Surgical setting managing common diagnoses such as CHF, COPD, pneumonia, and sepsis.
• Possess NIHSS certification or willingness to obtain.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with a nurse-to-patient ratio of up to 1:7.
• Comfort with remote monitoring technology and responding to patient needs accordingly.
• Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and float as required.
