Registered Nurse – Operating Room

Specialized Preoperative Nursing Care

Provide specialized preoperative nursing care in a surgical center setting, ensuring patient safety and optimal outcomes. Collaborate with surgical teams to deliver high-quality care before procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patients’ preoperative condition and review medical histories and allergies.
• Prepare surgical instruments, supplies, and the operating room for procedures.
• Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure adherence to safety protocols and sterile techniques.
• Monitor patient vital signs and provide care during preop phase, addressing any concerns.
• Document patient information, procedures, and interventions accurately in the EMR system.
• Follow facility policies for emergency response and adaptive patient care.

Qualifications:

• Current valid RN license.
• BLS certification required; surgical care knowledge strongly preferred.
• Must have IV insertion skills and experience with surgical procedures.
• Ability to scrub in on surgeries and understand robotic surgical techniques.
• Strong assessment, communication, and organizational skills.
• Flexibility to cover day shifts, rotating weekends, and on-call hours.
