American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Operating Room position requiring a WV or compact license, 2 years of OR experience, and participation in a weekend call rotation.
Details- Acute care Operating Room setting with 15 surgical suites
- Handles 55-70 cases per day covering all procedures including same-day and overnight stays
- Preop care scrubbing responsibilities only
- Uses Sunrise EMR, transitioning to EPIC in April
- Day shift scheduling options of 6-2, 7-3, 8-4, or 9-5 with 4x10-hour or 3x12-hour shifts
- No blocked scheduling
- Weekend rotation includes 1 weekend call day and 1 weekend scheduled shift per 4-week schedule
- On-call requirement of 1-2 second calls per month, including a 24-hour weekend call shift from 7A-7A
- Call response time of 30 minutes required
- Floating to the OR holding area required
- Occasional midnight and holiday shifts based on departmental needs
- Active WV or compact RN license required
- BLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of OR nursing experience required
- Strong IV skills required
- Surgical care knowledge and robotics experience required
- BSN not required
- Copy of unexpired driver's license required for consideration
- Provides preoperative nursing care within a hospital-based surgical center
- Scrubs provided by the facility
- Unit-specific orientation covers the surgical center and pre-op area
- Candidates must reside within a 50-mile radius, and local travelers are not accepted for this position
- Travelers with prior experience at any WVU Medicine facility must have completed a 2-year break before reapplying
- Cumulative traveler assignments within WVU Medicine are limited to one year, after which a 2-year break is required
