Step Down Unit Registered Nurse (RN) position is located in an acute care setting with a focus on managing patients with intermediate care needs. The role involves providing specialized nursing care to patients experiencing various conditions such as chest pain, arrhythmias, and post-procedure recovery, with a day-to-night rotating schedule. The position requires flexibility to float within the hospitals telemetry and medical-surgical units, ensuring seamless patient care coverage.

• Schedule:
  
  12-hour shifts, rotation between day and night shifts from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm or 7:00 pm to 7:00 am; minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications:
  
  Valid license to submit; willingness to wait for licensure; ACLS, BLS certification, NIHSS; minimum of 2 years of experience in relevant unit; location requirement: must be within a 50-mile radius.
• Preferred Qualifications:
  
  Experience with cardiac monitoring and IV titration; familiarity with hospitalist or intensivist models.
• Float:
  Float rotation may be required into telemetry or medical-surgical units with ratios up to 1:6, possibly 1:7 in medical-surgical units.
• Additional Information:
  The role involves responding to emergent patient needs, interpreting telemetry strips, titrating drips such as Amiodarone, Cardizem, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Labetolol, Nitro, and Heparin. RN staff will manage respiratory equipment including high flow and Bipap devices, and work in an environment with hospitalist and intensivist coverage 24/7. Self-scheduling is allowed with the consideration of unit needs; staff must be prepared to work holidays if required.
