Position Overview
Shield Commercial Insurance Services specializes in contractors’ insurance coverage — from the ground to the rooftop, and everything in between! Since 2004, Shield has been known for providing superior products and customer service that deliver outstanding value and protection.
The Account Manager (AM) will ultimately drive the expansion of the Shield business. One primary responsibility is that the AM will proactively seek out and acquire new clients, understand their specific needs, and offer solutions. Building strong relationships will help to facilitate business growth.
The Account Manager plays a crucial role in promoting Shield’s product. This will involve engaging with potential clients in the field, an average of 1 week out of the month with local clients (3x a quarter with regional clients). The goal is to obtain new agent appointments, while also visiting/calling current appointed agents.
When not in the field, it’s expected of the AM to make calls, email, and attend virtual meetings to maintain relationships with new and current agents.
We are looking for candidates that live in Ohio, West Virginia, Tennessee, Virginia, Western- PA, as this position will oversee the Northeast/Ohio Valley region of the country.
Responsibilities- Visit 4 potential new agents / current agents a day. Total of 3 days a week.
- Retain continuous awareness of connections, sales & terms and keep relative records within Salesforce.
- Follow up and maintain existing relationships, while continuing to nourish new relationships.
- Identify cross-sell opportunities for other lines of insurance.
- P&C license not required, but highly preferred.
- Previous retail or wholesale experience.
- Detail oriented with excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.
- Demonstrate teamwork and the ability to support multiple individuals.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize and possess great time management skills.
- Willingness and ability to travel (Travel requirements will lessen over time once acclimated and relationships are built).
