The College of Performing Arts is seeking a highly qualified Overhire Driver & Trucking Hand to join its Performance Operations – Scenic Department Staff.
This overhire position is without regular or guaranteed weekly hours; opportunities for work will be scheduled on an as‑needed basis by the Scenic department and may be renewed pending institutional need and funding.
- Operate truck for storage pulls and/or shopping runs or serve as a passenger in the truck to assist with loading and unloading
- Maintain clean usable area at storage unit
- Ensure buildings and rental equipment are well maintained during shifts
- Use safe moving practices to ensure no one is putting themselves at risk of injury in lifting and moving things
- Additional duties as assigned
- Track receipts as necessary
- Comfort driving a box truck in Manhattan
- Ability to lift 50 lbs comfortably
- State issued Driver's License, if driving
- Knowledge of NYC driving regulations regarding commercial vehicles and parking
- Strong communication skills and ability to work with other crew members collaboratively
This position is primarily in-person and is based on campus to support effective in-person collaboration and engagement. Work calls may include shifts scheduled for early in the morning and on weekends as needed, and may require flexibility to coordinate short term calls.
Salary Range$27.00/hour
