Truck Driver
Reports ToChild Nutrition Director
Job GoalUnder general supervision, the driver is responsible for reviewing weekly inventory orders and menus for schools, gathering and counting all items according to orders, and hauling food and food service products needed at schools on the specified route each day.
Qualifications- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Possess a current Ohio County Health Department Food Handler's Card.
- Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions.
- Pass the approved West Virginia Service Personnel Tests for School Cook.
- Complete the OCS Defensive Driving Course.
- Show evidence of the ability to work independently with limited supervision.
- Be able to perform record keeping tasks as required.
- Have considerable knowledge in the standard practices and methods of food safety and truck hauling of transports.
- Be able to read, understand and follow written and oral instructions in a fast‑paced environment.
- Show any other combination of training or experience which would lead to successful employment as a Truck Driver in Child Nutrition for Ohio County Schools.
- Review weekly orders from schools and gather correct amount of products ordered to deliver to each delivery site on the route.
- Record temperatures on production record and deliver these records to each delivery site.
- Communicate with other food service staff and administration as needed related to daily delivery of items.
- Perform preventive maintenance on the truck.
- Keep required up to date records.
- Work in freezers, stock room or other areas in the food service department as assigned.
- Promote high standards of food safety and good housekeeping methods in all work areas, including but not limited to wearing a hair net in all areas of all kitchens.
- Load and unload trucks as assigned, according to assigned route.
- Participate in in‑service training as directed.
- Maintain positive work habits and professional behavior at all times.
- Perform duties efficiently and productively in a timely manner.
- Maintain and/or upgrade skills.
- Perform other duties assigned by the Director Child Nutrition and/or Cafeteria Manager.
200 days of the school year.
