Distribution Supervisor
The Distribution Supervisor is a salaried leadership position responsible for the timely, accurate, and efficient processing of workflow through an assigned area. They will be largely focused on receiving, picking, packing, and shipping warehousing functions within the Retail and DTC distribution environment. Qualified candidates will need to possess working knowledge of an automated warehouse system, achieve key process and operational cost improvements in accordance with established company policies and procedures, and foster a safe team environment.
Essential functions include supervising up to 50 associates, achieving continual process improvement, differentiating performance by coaching, training, and mentoring staff, writing and administering annual associate performance evaluations, monitoring and tracking labor productivity and key performance indicators, eliminating non-value-added activities and inefficiencies, demonstrating strong judgment skills, obtaining a strong knowledge of the Warehouse Control/Order Management system, promoting safety leadership, and performing other duties as assigned.
Experience/qualifications include a bachelor's degree with a concentration in a technical discipline or 5 plus years of related work experience, 3-5 years of supervisory experience in distribution operations, promoting teamwork, proficiency with warehouse and distribution management software, experience with process improvement and driving change, ability to analyze forecasting and make well-supported recommendations, strong computer skills, thorough understanding of policies and procedures relative to customer service, prioritizing customer satisfaction, acquiring knowledge of functional operations, working at a fast pace in a rapidly changing business environment, communicating and addressing issues to senior management, and continually expanding on personal operational and supply chain knowledge.
Travel requirements are not applicable. Physical requirements include regularly performing computer work and sitting, occasionally standing, walking, and/or lifting up to 70 lbs. Independent judgment is required to complete work assignments and often makes recommendations to work procedures, policies, and practices.
