SUMMARY

The Senior Accountant is responsible for owning and leading key accounting functions, financial reporting processes, and business critical analyses with minimal supervision. This role requires an experienced accounting professional who can quickly learn the business, independently manage complex accounting responsibilities, identify and resolve issues, and provide meaningful financial insights to leadership.

The successful candidate will demonstrate strong technical accounting expertise, sound judgment, and accountability while taking ownership of assigned responsibilities. They will serve as a trusted resource within Finance, leading month end and year end close activities, driving process improvements, supporting audits, and partnering across the organization to ensure accurate financial reporting, compliance, and sound business decisions. This is not an entry level position.

The ideal candidate has prior experience in performing Senior Accountant level responsibilities and can contribute immediately with limited training or day to day direction.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead month end and year end close processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, reporting schedules, and supporting analyses
  • Create and review journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and general ledger activity
  • Manage fixed asset accounting, inventory reporting and variance analysis, and cash flow reporting
  • Manage assigned balance sheet and income statement accounts and related reconciliations
  • Analyze financial and operational performance and provide recommendations to leadership
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and management reporting activities
  • Identify and resolve accounting discrepancies, system issues, and process inefficiencies
  • Maintain the integrity of the general ledger, including account structures, coding, and classifications
  • Partner with cross functional teams in the business to provide financial guidance, analysis, and support
  • Lead process improvements and automation to enhance efficiency, controls, and reporting
  • Calculate, review, and reconcile commission related activity for sales representatives and distributors
  • Support sales and use tax compliance, audits, regulatory filings, and government reporting
  • Research and apply accounting guidance to ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies
  • Coordinate and support internal and external audit activities
  • Prepare audit schedules, supporting documentation, and respond to auditor inquiries
  • Support ERP projects, system enhancements, testing, and implementations as finance resource
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to finance team members while promoting continuous improvement
  • Maintain documentation, standard work, and internal controls for assigned accounting processes
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration required
  • Minimum of five years of progressive accounting experience required
  • Prior Senior Accountant experience required; manufacturing experience strongly preferred
  • Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar platforms preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Advanced Excel skills
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, reconciliation, and organizational skills
  • Sales and Use Tax experience preferred
  • Cost accounting experience preferred
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a team oriented environment
  • Prior leadership, mentoring, or supervisory experience preferred
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Collaboration skills across all levels of the organization, as well as with customers and vendors
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment
WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position operates primarily in a professional office environment with regular interaction with manufacturing plant operations. Occasional business travel may be required, estimated at up to 10%.

WORK SCHEDULE

This is a full time position with a standard Monday through Friday schedule. Occasional evening or weekend hours may be required during month end close, year end close, audits, budgeting, or other peak business periods.

COMPENSATION

Salaried compensation: $85K-$105K based on experience
