EARLY CHILDHOOD SCREENER
White Bear Lake Area Schools
The Early Childhood Screener is responsible for providing comprehensive early childhood developmental screening services to young children and their families in accordance with Minnesota Early Childhood Screening requirements and White Bear Lake Area Schools procedures.
The Early Childhood Screener serves as a welcoming and knowledgeable resource for families by identifying children's strengths and potential developmental, health, behavioral, social-emotional, communication, and learning needs. The position requires strong knowledge of early childhood development, effective communication with families, and the ability to collaborate with school staff, community providers, and early childhood professionals.
The Early Childhood Screener will conduct screenings, communicate results with families, make appropriate referrals, maintain accurate records, and support families in connecting with resources and services that promote children's healthy development and successful transition to school.
Required Qualifications: Current Minnesota teaching license in Early Childhood Education, such as:
- Early Childhood Education (Birth–Grade
3), or - Preprimary (Age 3–Prekindergarten), or another Minnesota early childhood license approved by the district.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience conducting Minnesota Early Childhood Screening.
- Experience with developmental screening instruments and parent-report tools.
- Experience with vision and hearing screening.
- Knowledge of Minnesota Early Childhood Screening requirements and referral processes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Early Childhood Screening
- Conduct comprehensive early childhood developmental screenings for eligible children in accordance with Minnesota requirements and district procedures.
- Administer approved developmental screening instruments and parent-report measures.
