Position Overview
The Engineer I
- Structural is an entry-level position for professional engineering work, focused on developing foundational knowledge and skills. This individual performs assignments that apply standard techniques, procedures, and criteria across a sequence of related tasks. They apply basic judgment in the application of established methods and in selecting among basic engineering alternatives, while building technical capability within the discipline. The Engineer I
- Structural reports to the Department Manager, and is expected to demonstrate an understanding of professional and ethical responsibilities and continues to grow in both knowledge and practical application. Duties & Responsibilities
- Performs defined portions of broader engineering assignments using established methods and guidance from experienced engineers
- Performs standard computations and analysis
- May participate in site visits or observe construction activities to support project understanding
- Submits work to the Project Manager for QA/QC review and incorporates feedback as needed
Other duties as assigned
- Passed Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam – or is in the process of obtaining
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Discipline)
- Ability to follow direction
- Willingness to learn
- Exposure to engineering project work through internships, coursework, or field experience
- Interest in pursuing Professional Engineer (PE) licensure
