Position PurposeUnder the direction of the Director of Marketing and Communications, this position serves as the College’s web and digital communications subject-matter expert. The position develops, coordinates, implements, and evaluates website, digital content, social media, advertising communications, and related communications strategies that support enrollment, institutional priorities, stakeholder engagement, public awareness, and the College’s reputation. The position leads website communications strategy, web governance, digital content, accessibility, search visibility, analytics, social media communications, and assigned advertising communications.
It also provides expert communications consultation and support for assigned College and cross-divisional initiatives and public and media relations activities. Through consultation, content development, communications planning, performance evaluation, training, and vendor coordination, the position helps ensure that College communications are clear, accurate, accessible, audience-centered, consistent, and aligned with institutional goals.
- Lead website communications strategy, governance, accessibility, and projects.
- Lead web content strategy, search visibility, and content coordinator support.
- Lead social media communications and support advertising campaign development.
- Conduct research and evaluate communications effectiveness.
- Develop and coordinate communications plans for college initiatives and support public and media relations.
- Support departmental and institutional operations.
Salary Range: $32.97 - $48.60/hour. (DOQ – Salary Placement will be done at time of hire.)
Minimum Qualifications (must have at time of application)- Three years of professional experience in web communications, digital communications, marketing communications, public relations, strategic communications, or a related field.
- A Master’s degree may substitute for 18 months of experience; a Bachelor’s degree may substitute for one year of experience; and an Associate’s degree may substitute for six months of experience.
- Degree must be in a related field.
- Experience developing and implementing communications strategies or plans and consulting with managers, departments, or internal clients regarding audiences, messages, channels, and communications practices.
- Experience writing, editing, reviewing, and publishing public-facing content for websites, social media, advertising, public relations, or related communications channels using plain-language and audience-centered practices.
- Experience coordinating website content strategy, web governance, user experience, search visibility, or digital communications within a content management system.
- Knowledge of digital accessibility requirements and practices, including ADA and WCAG standards, sufficient to guide web content and coordinate compliance efforts.
- Experience developing and evaluating social media or integrated campaign communications and using analytics, audience research, stakeholder feedback, or campaign data to recommend improvements.
