Plant Accountant

Our client is seeking an experienced Plant Accountant to support financial operations within a manufacturing environment. This contract role will partner closely with plant leadership and be responsible for cost accounting, inventory accounting, financial reporting, variance analysis, and month-end close activities.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing accounting and the ability to translate financial data into actionable insights that support operational efficiency and profitability.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage plant cost accounting and inventory accounting activities.
• Monitor and reconcile raw material, WIP, and finished goods inventories.
• Analyze manufacturing costs, inventory transactions, and production variances.
• Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close deliverables.
• Perform standard vs. actual cost analysis and investigate variances.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and profitability analysis.
• Participate in physical inventories and cycle count programs.
• Assist with annual audits and internal control initiatives.
• Partner with operations, supply chain, and finance teams to improve reporting accuracy and operational performance.
• Develop reporting and analysis to support management decision-making.
