We are seeking a Revenue Accounting Manager to oversee revenue recognition, reporting, and related accounting operations. This role ensures accurate and timely revenue accounting in accordance with GAAP, supports financial close processes, and partners with cross-functional teams to improve revenue processes and controls. The position plays a key role in maintaining compliance, strengthening internal controls, and providing financial insights to leadership.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the end-to-end revenue recognition process in accordance with GAAP (ASC 606)
- Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities related to revenue, including journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting
- Review customer contracts to determine proper revenue treatment and accounting impact
- Maintain and improve revenue recognition policies, procedures, and internal controls
- Partner with Sales, Legal, FP&A, and Operations to support contract structuring and revenue-related matters
- Analyze revenue trends, variances, and deferred revenue balances
- Support audits by preparing documentation and serving as a liaison with external auditors
- Drive process improvements, automation initiatives, and system enhancements related to revenue accounting
- Ensure accurate reporting of deferred revenue, unbilled revenue, and related accounts
- Lead or mentor accounting staff as applicable
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including revenue accounting
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and ASC 606 revenue recognition standards
- Experience reviewing contracts and complex revenue arrangements
- ERP system experience (Net Suite, SAP, Oracle, or similar) and advanced Excel skills
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- CPA or progress toward certification preferred
- Experience in SaaS, technology, subscription-based, or service-based environments
- Prior leadership or team management experience
- Experience with system implementations or process improvements
