Senior Accountant

About the Role

We are seeking a detail‑oriented Senior Accountant to join our team on a contract basis. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical accounting expertise, a proactive mindset, and the ability to step in quickly and add value in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment. This role will support key accounting functions, including month‑end close, financial reporting, and account reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and integrity across financial operations.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead month‑end and year‑end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.

- Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP.

- Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate and resolve variances.

- Support general ledger maintenance and ensure accuracy of financial data.

- Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes as needed.

- Partner with cross‑functional teams to ensure accurate financial reporting.

- Support audit processes by preparing schedules and documentation.

- Identify process improvements to streamline accounting operations and strengthen controls.

Requirements

Qualifications

- Strong understanding of GAAP, general ledger activity, and financial reporting.

- Prior experience in a contract or interim accounting role preferred.

- Experience with ERP systems

- Advanced Excel skills and ability to work with large data sets.

- Exceptional attention to detail and analytical problem‑solving skills.

- Strong communication skills and ability to work independently.

Ability to manage competing priorities and meet tight deadlines.
