Portfolio Cost Control Analyst
Location:
White Plains, NY
Pay rate: $50/hr W2
Duration: 12 Months
Hybrid (Minimum 3 Days Onsite)
Candidates must be local to the Tri-State area and able to work on a W2 basis. Fully remote work is not permitted.
Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Portfolio Cost Control Analyst to support the Cost Control team by managing project cost analysis, billing, reconciliations, accounts payable activities, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have experience with SAP, Primavera, cost controls, and advanced Excel in a fast-paced project or construction environment.
Responsibilities
- Support portfolio cost control activities by tracking project expenditures and preparing cost reports.
- Perform project and portfolio-level cost analysis, reconciliations, and variance analysis (budget vs. actuals).
- Prepare journal entries and perform manual interest calculations.
- Process high-volume monthly billings and invoices using SAP, Primavera, and related systems.
- Review and reconcile payments, revenue postings, and financial transactions.
- Support project closeouts by completing reconciliations and preparing Closeout Memo Packages.
- Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies and payment issues.
- Process accounts payable invoices and purchase order corrections.
- Verify purchase order funding and coordinate additional funding requests when necessary.
- Prepare monthly financial reports, budget tracking, and cost monitoring reports.
- Maintain client billing records, project hours, and payment history.
- Assist with monthly accrual reviews to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Support departmental process improvements, system migrations, and workflow transitions.
- Ensure compliance with internal financial controls, approved budgets, contracts, and company policies.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
- Experience in Cost Control, Billing, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Accounting, or General Ledger.
- Experience performing financial reconciliations and variance analysis.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and data analysis.
- Experience using SAP and Primavera.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with project accounting or project cost controls.
- Experience with Procore, Share Point , Microsoft Teams Planner, and Adobe/PDF tools.
- Experience supporting project closeouts and cost recovery.
- Knowledge of budgeting, accruals, purchase orders, and financial reporting.
- Experience working in utilities, construction, engineering, or infrastructure projects.
