Controller - ASC 606 / Revenue Recognition

Fully Remote | NY Tri-State Area Preferred | Up to $100/Hour

We are seeking an experienced Controller for a fully remote, fractional engagement to start. The ideal candidate will have strong technical accounting expertise, particularly ASC 606 revenue recognition, and hands-on experience transitioning an organization from cash-basis to accrual accounting.

This is a hands-on opportunity for someone who can assess the existing accounting environment, implement improved processes, troubleshoot accounting issues, and help establish a strong foundation for the accounting function.

• • Implement ASC 606 revenue recognition processes
• • Help transition the organization from cash-basis to accrual accounting
• • Evaluate existing revenue recognition and accounting processes
• • Develop and implement accounting procedures, controls, and reconciliations
• • Troubleshoot accounting issues and provide practical solutions
• • Work directly within Intuit Enterprise Suite / Quick Books Online
• • Utilize Microsoft Excel for analysis, reconciliations, reporting, and accounting schedules
• • Identify gaps in existing accounting processes and recommend improvements
• • Provide hands-on Controller-level accounting support
• • Ensure revenue and related transactions are properly recorded and reported

• • Controller, Assistant Controller, or senior-level accounting experience
• • Strong knowledge of ASC 606 and revenue recognition
• • Strong accrual accounting experience
• • Experience transitioning an organization from cash-basis to accrual accounting strongly preferred
• • Strong Intuit Enterprise Suite / Quick Books Online experience
• • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• • Strong accounting troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
• • Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment
• • Excellent attention to detail
