Part time: 20-28 hours per week, Monday–Thursday. Strong possibility of additional hours.
This position works under the direct supervision and guidance of the Director of Communications and requires a highly organized, detail oriented professional with exceptional project management abilities and strong administrative skills. Ideal candidates are:
- Self motivated, resourceful team players, able to manage tasks and projects autonomously.
- Willing to learn essential aspects of digital communications, marketing, web development and best practices.
- Highly organized, proactive, detail oriented, meticulously accurate, and fluent at managing multiple priorities and projects with tight deadlines.
- Able to identify opportunities for enhanced efficiencies and champion new methodologies.
- Willing to build understanding of the United Methodist Church and the New York Annual Conference s organizational structure, key players, mission, vision and values, and priorities.
- Committed to using their gifts and graces in service to others.
- Provide administrative support for the Communications Department, including the execution of deliverables, outreach and inquiries.
- Oversee project management system for proper coordination and completion of requests and inquiries from internal team members, and local church clergy and laity.
- Maintain and update sections of the Annual Conference website and other organizational web based platforms (project management system) as needed.
- Learn and master new programs, software and applications as directed by taking part in periodic training needed stay abreast of the latest technologies and strategies.
- Lay out and send regular email marketing pieces for distribution.
- Support creative engagement on small marketing and communications projects under the direction of and with guidance provided by the Director of Communications.
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding sensitive organizational information, strategic plans, and private communications, exercising professional discretion in all internal and external interactions.
