Responsibilities
- Conduct and document observations of construction as it progresses for civil projects related to civil infrastructure, such as roads and bridges
- Monitor, record and inspect progress on construction projects
- Coordinate field materials sampling and testing, including concrete slump and air testing, casting concrete test cylinders, and performing in-place soil compaction testing
- Receive general supervision from the Senior Inspector who reviews work while in progress
- Perform other duties as needed
- Technical school or Associate degree
- Some demonstrated experience in construction inspection
- Ability to interpret construction schedules
- NYSDOT or NYSTA experience
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Experience in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Strong written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

The expected compensation range for this position depends upon skills, experience, education and geographical location. (Stated benefits are for full-time regular positions. Temporary and part-time roles eligible for limited benefits.) New York: $60,813 - $86,875
