Project Estimator

Arcadis is seeking a Construction Cost Estimator to join the Resilience Water Northeast team in New York. The Cost Estimator will support pre‑construction and construction‑phase projects nationwide and in the NYC & Westchester area, occasionally requiring field visits. Responsibilities include reviewing constructability, performing quantity takeoffs, developing cost estimates aligned with current market conditions, and ensuring project budgets remain accurate throughout the project lifecycle.

• Develop cost estimates from conceptual design through 100% design, including quantity takeoff, pricing, vendor price verification, evaluation of historical cost data, and preparation of markups and indirect cost estimates.
• Review cost estimates prepared by consulting engineers for client planning, design and construction projects.
• Advise on current market conditions and standard estimating practices and provide final recommendations on construction budgets for design projects.
• Prepare independent estimates for change orders, review and analyze contractor change proposal requests, and facilitate negotiations involving associated cost and schedule impacts.
• Prepare written basis of estimate reports to communicate cost estimating methodology, assumptions and cost analysis findings to stakeholders.
• Coordinate with the Arcadis Digital Solutions Team to develop and implement cost data analytics and interactive reporting solutions using Power Apps and Power BI.
• Deliver presentations in person and virtually for client meetings and industry organizations.

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture or Construction Management.
• Eight or more years of experience as an estimator.

• Proficiency with Sage Estimating (Timberline), MII or similar estimating software and with Bluebeam or On-Screen takeoff tools.
• Strong computer skills and proficiency with the MS Office Suite.
• Ability to develop a CPM schedule in Primavera P6.

We offer a competitive salary range of $110,000–$160,000, plus benefits for full‑time and part‑time employees including medical, dental, vision, EAP, 401(k), life insurance, paid parental leave, reward & recognition, wellbeing, adoption assistance, tuition reimbursement, paid holidays and paid time off. The salary is based on experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.
