The Language Club at the International Center for Ethno-Religious Mediation is currently seeking enthusiastic and qualified individuals to join our team as Part‑Time Mandarin Chinese Teachers. We have multiple openings for experienced Mandarin Chinese language instructors capable of teaching adult and young learners across various proficiency levels, including beginner, intermediate, and advanced.
We also welcome applications from individuals currently enrolled in college- or university-level Chinese language, East Asian studies, linguistics, or related programs.
Teaching ModalitiesWe offer multiple teaching modalities, depending on your availability:
In‑person instruction at our office in White Plains, New York
Virtual instruction via Zoom or Google Meet
Hybrid instruction combining both
For in‑person classes, we will work with you to determine your availability and develop a class schedule that aligns with your commitments. For virtual classes, you will create your language course on the ICERMediation Language Course LMS, set your hourly rate, and publish the course. ICERMediation will list your course in our course marketplace, promote it to virtual learners, and notify you once students enroll.

Candidates currently enrolled in a college-level Chinese language or related program are encouraged to apply.
LocationIn‑person Mandarin Chinese classes will be held in White Plains, New York. Applicants should be local or willing to commute.
Virtual classes will be delivered via Zoom or Google Meet through the ICERMediation Language Course LMS.
ScheduleMandarin Chinese teachers determine their own availability; however, schedules must remain consistent throughout the academic term.
For example, if you are available to teach Monday evenings and Saturday afternoons during the Fall term, your classes will be scheduled consistently during those time slots for the entire term. Teaching schedules and availability will be finalized during the interview process.
CompensationThis is an hourly paid position.
Virtual instructors set their own hourly rate when creating courses on the ICERMediation Language Course LMS. Students pay the listed rate directly.
Example:
If you set your Mandarin Chinese course at $20 per hour and 10 students enroll, your gross earnings will be $200 per hour. After a 20% ICERMediation hosting fee, your net earnings will be $160 per hour.
In‑person instructors will receive hourly compensation based on enrollment numbers. Rates will be mutually agreed upon prior to the start of each class.
We look forward to welcoming passionate and dedicated Mandarin Chinese instructors who are eager to contribute to the ICERMediation Language Club’s mission of promoting language proficiency, intercultural understanding, and lifelong learning.
