The Esthetics Instructor is a full-time, on-site role located in White Plains, NY. The instructor is responsible for teaching esthetics curriculum in both classroom and practical lab settings, including skin care theory, treatments, product knowledge, sanitation, and client consultation. Day-to-day tasks include planning and delivering lessons, demonstrating techniques, supervising students during hands-on practice, and providing constructive feedback to support skill development.
The role involves grading assignments, maintaining accurate student records, and preparing learners for licensing exams and entry into the professional spa and beauty industry. The instructor collaborates with school leadership to update curriculum, support compliance with state and accreditation requirements, and promote a safe, inclusive, and professional learning environment.
- Current esthetics license in New York State and prior experience working in a spa, salon, or skincare practice.
- Experience teaching, mentoring, or training others in esthetics or a related field, with strong classroom management abilities.
- Solid technical knowledge of facials, skincare treatments, basic makeup application, body treatments, and product ingredients.
- Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate adult learners.
- Commitment to professional ethics, safety, sanitation standards, and inclusive practices in the classroom and treatment areas.
- Organizational and time-management skills to plan lessons, manage schedules, and maintain accurate documentation.
- Comfort with basic technology for instructional purposes, such as presentation tools, learning platforms, and digital recordkeeping.
- High school diploma required; advanced education or instructor certification in esthetics or cosmetology is preferred.
