H2M architects + engineers, a multidiscipline architectural, engineering, and environmental consulting firm, is expanding its Water and Wastewater Engineering team. We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer with strong technical backgrounds in water resources, stormwater, and wastewater systems. Ideal candidates will have expertise in biological nutrient removal technologies, hydraulics, sludge conditioning and disposal, treatment, storage, and distribution projects, and civil/site design.
This position is seated in our Westchester, NY office.
- Perform engineering work in various engineering fields with an emphasis on water and wastewater treatment process through design to construction.
- Lead engineering evaluations, execute design calculations, and prepare reports, plans, and specifications with support of senior level engineering staff
- Conduct construction administration and on-site resident support activities, including construction phase management activities, coordination of shop drawing reviews and RFI responses, and lead the development of construction change orders.
- Perform detailed engineering calculations and analysis.
- Lead administrative and project management related tasks for various engineering design projects, including management of subconsultants
- Lead development of construction documents (plans and specifications).
- Manage project budgets and delivery schedules.
- Coordinate with other engineering and architecture departments.
- Conduct field investigations and inspections.
- Check performance or conformity with plans and specifications through field inspection and testing
- Supervise and mentor junior engineers and technical staff.
- Interface with clients and construction managers.
- Assist with business development, proposal writing, and budgeting.
- 5+ years of professional work experience in the design and/or design services of water/wastewater
- Bachelors' degree in Civil, Environmental, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering or related field of study.
- FE/EIT required, PE highly desired.
- Strong verbal/written communication skills, organizational skills, and the ability to work well both independently and in team environment.
- Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, Teams, Outlook).
- Understanding of Autodesk Revit software.
The
salary range for this role is $85,000 - $120,000 annually. The employment offer may deviate from this published range based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, experience, specialty, knowledge, education, geography and/or related certifications – related to an applicant’s characteristics protected by local, state or federal law.
