Electrical Engineer

Overview

We have created a product that is advancing how hospitals and pathology labs analyze and diagnose tissue samples. Our client works with one of the top hospitals in the country. They are using automation and precision sectioning technology to create a revolutionary imaging and analysis device.

We are looking for an Electrical Engineer to work alongside electrical, mechanical, and software engineers to develop this medical device. You will have a chance to wear many hats with PCB design, wiring diagrams, and software development. Ideally, you have a generalist background in hardware electrical design. • Design system-level schematics, PCB schematic capture, and layout for 2-4 layer boards.
• Design precision motion stages and components using CAD
• Documentation, including schematics, wire harness drawings, PCB files, and component specifications for FDA processes and approval.
• Model and develop electrical systems throughout the device, such as, stepper and DC motor control, AC/DC power systems, and analog and digital systems.
• Design and prototype analog and digital circuits, primarily for the integration of sensors
• Building cable harnesses, designing signal and power distribution networks
• Building prototypes and test fixtures including instrumenting with data acquisition systems and programming
• Unit and system testing of prototype designs

• 2-4 years of experience
• BS or MS in Electrical Engineering or in an equivalent area
• Analytical problem-solving skills, such as modeling and simulations
• Exposure to PCB design
• Exposure to cabling, wiring diagrams, racks, harnesses, etc.
• Design of high-sensitivity analog and data systems
• Experience with power distribution with low or high voltage

• Exposure to firmware development in C is a huge plus
• Design experience with embedded hardware such as Microcontrollers and FPGAs is a huge plus
