Creighton Manning is hiring a Transit Project Lead to manage public transportation planning and infrastructure projects across New York State. What You'll Do
  • Lead bus-focused transit planning, transportation engineering, and multi-modal infrastructure projects.
  • Evaluate bus operations, service efficiency, network redesign options, and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Support design of bus stops, stations, maintenance yards, facilities, and related transit infrastructure.
  • Manage project scope, schedule, budget, staffing, client communication, and financial performance.
  • Prepare reports, concept plans, graphics, meeting materials, and proposal support.
Required Qualifications
  • 10+ years of experience in transit planning, transportation engineering, or related public transportation work.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Planning, or a related field.
  • P.E., AICP, or equivalent transit leadership experience preferred.
  • Experience with public transportation projects, project delivery, client communication, and multidisciplinary coordination.
  • Ability to travel approximately 25% and attend meetings outside normal business hours as needed.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Preferred Experience
  • Bus rapid transit, bus network redesign, alternatives analysis, and concept development.
  • New York State public transportation authority experience.
  • FTA project experience.
  • Station, facility, site, and bus stop design experience.

Side notes for you Stephen:

Recommended changes to improve Linked In and Indeed click-through rate:

  • Strengthen the job title for search. Consider using "Transit Project Lead
    - Engineer or Planner" as the posting title and keep "New York" in the title or first line because candidates often search by role title and location.
  • Move the strongest candidate value points closer to the top. Place hybrid work, salary range, leadership opportunity, public-impact transit work, and relocation assistance in the first 3-5 lines to increase clicks from search results.
  • Shorten the opening section for mobile readers. Linked In and Indeed candidates often scan quickly, so lead with a concise hook followed by bullets rather than a long first paragraph.
  • Use plain-language search terms naturally. Keep phrases such as "Transit Planner," "Transit Engineer," "BRT," "bus network redesign," "transportation planning," and "New York transit projects" in the body, but avoid keyword stuffing.
  • Clarify must-haves versus preferred qualifications. Label the P.E./AICP language as "preferred or equivalent experience considered" if flexibility is acceptable; overly rigid requirements can reduce apply-through rates.
  • Add a stronger call to action. Replace the final sentence with a more direct line such as: "Apply today to lead high-impact transit planning and infrastructure projects across New York State."
