Senior Budget and Forecasting Associate

Distributed Clean Energy (DCE) is responsible for the development of small to mid-size solar, battery storage, and energy efficiency opportunities, including Community Solar, Distributed Energy Resource, Municipal/Co‑op, and Commercial and Industrial Markets. The Senior Budget and Forecasting Associate works with the DCE staff to manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting for DCE. Responsibilities include preparing annual budgets, quarterly forecast updates, monthly reconciliations of DCE P&L, and coordinating and preparing monthly development pipeline and financial performance reports.

The role also coordinates corporate financial risk reports and surety reporting, interfacing with Controlling, Accounting, and Risk Management.

• Prepare monthly performance metrics reports.
• Analyze actual results against monthly budget forecast.
• Prepare annual and quarterly budgets and financial forecasts.
• Work with DCE senior staff, Accounting, and Controlling to ensure accurate booking and reporting of expense and revenue line items.
• Prepare risk reports for RWECE that reflect DCE requirements, including Quarterly Risk Report, Contra G Report, and Performance Guarantee Report.
• Participate in development of the DCE annual budget and quarterly forecast updates throughout the year.
• Liaison between the DCE group and Controlling and Accounting organizations.

• Accounting or Finance degree.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in forecasting, budgeting, and financial analysis.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to manage internal and external customer relationships.
• Demonstrated desire to learn about Distributed Clean Energy and distributed energy markets.
• Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Teams.
• Experience with SAP accounting software or other financial software is a plus.
• Strong communication and ability to meet deadlines.
• Strong organization skills and ability to coordinate multiple tasks and deliverables.
• Ability to multitask while working independently and as part of a team.
• Motivated self‑starter, goal‑oriented, and strong problem‑solving abilities.
• Proven ability to empathize, build relationships, and effectively communicate with people from diverse backgrounds.
• Responsive to direction and coachable.
• Detail‑oriented with strong business acumen and sound understanding of business concepts.
• Office‑based role with some travel and visits to other RWECE offices.

The annual base salary range for this position in New York is $67,000 – $92,000. The listed salary range is a general guideline only. RWE considers factors such as scope and responsibilities, education and work experience, training and certifications, key skills, and market and business considerations at the time of the offer.
