Vice President II, Compliance Office – Sanctions
Our Client, an international bank located in White Plains, NY, is actively recruiting for a VP Compliance – Sanctions. The specialist should have a strong understanding of the regulations and compliance requirements for sanctions in all the jurisdictions in which the bank operates, as well as experience in designing logic to reject, block, accept and elevate transactions. In addition, the role requires analytical skills, a strong sense of business, and the ability to collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders.
Areasof Responsibility
- Continuously improve the company’s sanctions framework, staying current with relevant legal developments in the bank’s jurisdictions.
- Analyze penalties to determine whether there is reasonable ground to suspect a violation.
- Develop and deliver sanctions training to various parts of the organization.
- Act as a point of escalation for potential sanctions‑related issues or circumvent ions.
- Conduct name screening and analysis of potential matches against sanctions lists and internal watch lists, investigate and resolve matches, and so forth, ensuring compliance with AML/ATF regulations.
- File Voluntary Self‑Disclosure (VSD) when applicable.
- Collaborate and communicate with competent authorities and law‑enforcement agencies on sanctions impacts and audit monitoring, providing documentation efficiently.
- Issue rules, policies and procedures related to sanctions and implement them throughout the bank.
- Assess the bank’s risk of non‑compliance and perform on‑site controls to verify compliance with standards by the group entities.
- Promote a compliance culture to ensure effective risk management and compliance practices.
- Work collaboratively with other areas to integrate new products into detection platforms and case‑management tools.
- Support sanctions compliance by driving innovation and data‑driven solutions.
- Stay up‑to‑date with regulatory updates or changes.
- Provide advice and guidance to key stakeholders and teams on OFAC penalty regulations and related company policies.
- Ensure compliance with controls related to projects, tasks and processes executed.
- Education
: BA in Accounting, Economics, Finance, Law, or a similar degree. - Experience
:
Ten years of banking compliance experience. - Language
:
Fluent in English and Spanish (oral, written, and spoken). - Technical Knowledge
:- Knowledge of banking operations and compliance regulations.
- Robust understanding of BSA/AML/Sanction regulatory requirements.
- Experience with BSA/AML/Sanction related software.
This is a permanent position located in White Plains, New York. There may be an opportunity to work on a hybrid schedule (three days in office).
Salary: $105,000 – $140,000 plus competitive bonus and benefits.
