YOUR ROLE Responsibilities Include But Not Limited To- Manage tax compliance and tax advisory engagements in the NYC Commercial Real Estate Industry group.
- Determine resource requirements and work with a team to ensure exceptional client service
- Manage expectations with team members and monitor engagement progress
- Lead the review of partnership heavy compliance (1065/K-1s) and related corporate filings, managing complexity across real estate structures and state filings
- Research tax issues and filing requirements that affect tax compliance
- Research complex tax issues using internal revenue code, treasury regulations and other relevant authorities/guidance
- Draft tax technical memorandums and share knowledge to develop team members
- Identify opportunities to expand the scope of current engagements through identification of current client needs and target client requirements
- Actively participate in proposal development, at the direction of management, and take a lead role responding to requests for proposal
- Demonstrate initiative, vision, resourcefulness, creativity and independent thinking. Lead by example
- Bachelor's Degree required;
Master’s in Accounting/Taxation preferred - CPA, JD or EA required
- Minimum of 6 years of relevant tax experience
- 2+ years of managerial experience
- Current experience with commercial real estate clients including real estate, private equity and joint ventures
- REIT experience is helpful but not required
- Strong tax research skills
- Excellent communication and presentation (verbal and written) skills, as well as exceptional client service skills
- Proven competence with MS Office and tax compliance and research software, including Pro System, CCH Axcess and CCH Engagement
- Solid project management and organizational skills with a demonstrated ability to multi-task.
