Location: City of White Plains
Our client - a major utility firm based out of Westchester County, NY - has an immediate need for an Enterprise Data Steward. The particulars of the position are as follows.
Project OverviewThis role will support the Data Governance Program – focusing on enabling data stewardship, improving the quality of data assets, increasing data security and protection, simplifying data integration, and establishing better audit trails on data usage.
Job Functions & Responsibilities- Conduct data discovery stakeholder interviews and workshops to collect business data processes with business and IT stakeholders.
- Identify data sets, develop data flows, understand data‑related processes, and identify key data issues within business areas.
- Create Data Discovery metrics & presentation.
- Onboard and operationalize Business Glossary into Collibra, the Data Governance tool.
- Facilitate business with dataset onboarding and report certification in Collibra.
- Support the Data Governance Lead to integrate data governance solutions.
- Liaison with key stakeholders on DG initiatives within their lines of business.
- This role will also be responsible for some reporting (Power BI, Tableau, Advanced Excel, etc.)
- Working experience in Data Governance or Data Management area.
- Strong knowledge of Data Governance & Quality – policies, processes, and tools.
- Strong presentation & communication skills are required.
- Advanced Excel skills, Power BI, and ability to create reports / dashboards for senior leaders.
- Working in Agile environments.
- Undergraduate degree is required.
- Minimum of 1 year of work experience in Data Governance or Data Management.
