Location: City of White Plains
Project Overview
Our client – a major utility firm based out of Westchester County, NY – has an immediate need for a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer. This role will participate in designing, building, and maintaining scalable foundations for cloud applications and infrastructure. The engineer will collaborate daily across IT to implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC), manage and provision systems and services, and optimize costs and security on major platforms like Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
JobFunctions & Responsibilities
- Write and maintain automated scripts (e.g., Terraform or Ansible) to deploy cloud resources.
- Assist Dev Ops teams by supporting developers who build pipelines for rapid, reliable, automated application delivery.
- Maintain consistency across environments using immutable infrastructure principles to reduce deployment drift.
- Monitor cloud environments for performance bottlenecks and perform capacity planning.
- Diagnose and resolve complex, cloud‑related issues during outages with minimal service disruption.
- Set up proactive monitoring, logging, and alerting using tools such as Datadog, Cloud Watch, or Prometheus.
- Participate in on‑call rotations to support production services, perform root cause analysis, and handle routine maintenance.
- Cloud Platform Mastery (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible)
- Containerization (Docker, Kubernetes, Openshift)
- Strong foundational knowledge of networking, Windows, and Linux systems.
- College Degree
- Cloud and systems related certifications.
