• This Data Analyst will support and assist a team of analysts in performing analytics in the Market Forecasting Services (MFS) Group at the New York Power Authority.
• The position supports the team's efforts in refining requirements and collaborating with client staff to develop Tableau and Power BI dashboards and recurring plug‑and‑play reports.
• The supporting data models will pull data from various sources such as legacy Excel models/data sets, SharePoint Lists, SQL Server databases, etc.

• Assist in providing direction and/or developing Power BI and/or Tableau dashboards and foundational data models and transformations in collaboration with the MFS team.
• Convert legacy Excel models into Tableau and/or Power BI models.
• Provide subject‑matter expertise and assistance in developing Power BI/ Tableau visualization solutions based on requirements provided by the MFS team.
• Assess requirements and analyses and make recommendations.
• Incorporate the use of M365 and Microsoft Power Platform components.
• Connect to multiple source data systems on varied platforms.
• Create databases of legacy information and establish links to Tableau/Power BI to create custom dashboards.
• Provide the team with advanced analytics by defining and refining slicers, filters, and legends across dashboard reports.

• Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
• Extensive experience with the Microsoft Power Platform – MS Power Apps, Excel, Access, and specifically, visualization software Power BI.
• General understanding of building SQL databases.
• Strong understanding of Power Apps formulas and development methods.
• Understanding of how to implement solutions with multiple data sources.

$35.00 – $38.00 per hour
