Senior DevOps & Cloud Engineer

Gerber Life Insurance is seeking an accomplished, hands‑on Dev Ops and Cloud Engineering leader to help accelerate how software changes are developed, deployed and delivered across the organization.

This position requires onsite work at our White Plains, NY office. Candidates must be able and willing to work onsite upon starting in the role.

This is a senior, hands‑on technology leadership role with ownership of the Dev Ops Engineering architecture and modernization blueprint across Gerber Life. You'll provide technical leadership and direction to a team of 3–4 Dev Ops and Cloud Engineers while driving the evolution of our CI/CD capabilities, containerization strategy and cloud architecture. We're looking for someone who can set the technical vision while remaining close to the technology—designing, scripting, developing and solving complex engineering challenges alongside the team.

• Own and continuously evolve enterprise Dev Ops Engineering architecture
• Lead and develop a team of Dev Ops and Cloud Engineers
• Design and expand on-premise and cloud CI/CD pipelines
• Drive strategies across source control, build and branching, artifact management, code scanning, automated testing and deployment
• Lead containerization, orchestration and cloud migration initiatives
• Advance the transition toward serverless cloud architecture
• Provide hands‑on technical direction across discovery, design, scripting and development
• Improve software delivery velocity through automation and continuous improvement
• Manage product and sprint backlogs supporting Dev Ops and cloud roadmaps
• Recruit, coach and develop technical talent
• Partner across technology and business teams to deliver scalable solutions
• Maintain strong data security, architectural and regulatory standards

Dev Ops & CI/CD: Git, Maven, Artifactory, Jenkins, Sonar Qube, HP Fortify on Demand, JIRA

Testing: Cypress, Jasmine, Selenium, Cucumber, JMeter, JUnit

Development: Java, Spring, Angular, HTML, CSS, jQuery, AJAX

Platforms: Web Sphere, Jetty, NGINX

• Extensive experience providing technical leadership within Dev Ops and Cloud Engineering
• Significant experience leading Dev Ops/Cloud engineers in an Agile/Scrum environment
• Deep expertise in CI/CD architecture, automation, containerization and cloud technologies
• Experience developing and executing cloud migration and modernization strategies
• Ability to simplify large‑scale technical needs while considering total cost of ownership
• Strong agile mindset with a passion for innovation, automation and continuous improvement
• Ability to operate as both an autonomous technical leader and collaborative team player
• Bachelor's degree with relevant technical training, certifications or extensive applicable experience required;
  Master's degree in Computer Science preferred
