Cloud Computing: Infrastructure & Operations, Systems Engineer
Akkodis is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer role is a Full-Time with a client located in White Plains NY 10601 - (Hybrid). Ideally looking for applicants to have a solid background in cloud infrastructure, Azure Dev Ops/CI/CD, AI/Copilot would come as a big plus.
Salary Range: $120k-$130k/Annum + Benefits. The salary may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
We’re looking for a Senior Systems Engineer to join an engineering-focused team driving cloud modernization, infrastructure transformation, and technology optimization across a large, distributed environment.
This is not a traditional IT operations or cloud administration role. The team is looking for a strategic thinker and hands-on engineer who can evaluate solutions, make recommendations, collaborate with architects and Dev Ops teams, and help move the organization toward a more modern, cloud-first environment.
What You’ll Do- Help drive cloud modernization, transformation, and optimization initiatives.
- Evaluate current infrastructure and recommend opportunities to improve scalability, efficiency, security, and performance.
- Help define and recommend future-state technology solutions as the organization continues its transition to the cloud.
- Work closely with Dev Ops Engineers and Architects to evaluate solutions and ensure they are technically sound.
- Assess emerging technologies, including AI and automation, and identify opportunities where they can improve IT capabilities.
- Support the modernization and decommissioning of legacy technologies and infrastructure.
- Provide technical recommendations across cloud and traditional on-premises infrastructure.
- Help bridge the gap between existing on-prem environments and the organization's long-term cloud strategy.
- Collaborate with an MSP that handles much of the execution, allowing you to focus on engineering, evaluation, problem-solving, and technical direction.
- Help transform IT from a traditional service function into a strategic technology partner that helps solve business problems.
- Strong experience with cloud infrastructure and cloud engineering.
- Experience with traditional on-premises infrastructure and understanding of hybrid environments.
- A strong understanding of cloud migration, modernization, and transformation.
- Ability to evaluate technologies and provide clear, well-reasoned technical recommendations.
- Experience working with Dev Ops teams, architects, and engineering groups.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a future-focused mindset.
- Self-starter who can work independently and take ownership of initiatives.
- Experience with Git Hub, Azure Dev Ops, Jenkins, or similar CI/CD and Dev Ops platforms.
- Exposure to AI, automation, or emerging technologies is a plus.
