Municipal Litigation Associate - Hybrid in Westchester; Amlaw Firm

Lexitas Legal is currently seeking a Municipal Liability Defense Attorney for an Amlaw 100 firm. This exciting opportunity allows you to play an integral role in defending the interests of local municipalities and private clients through complex and impactful litigation. Ideal candidates will have a strong background in employment, general liability, complex torts, civil rights law and are eager to take on substantial defense litigation responsibilities in a collaborative environment.

As an Associate Attorney, you will work alongside seasoned professionals in a supportive and growth-oriented setting, gaining exposure to a diverse range of legal issues and a variety of complex cases. Responsibilities:

• Independently manage a litigation caseload, working cases from inception to resolution
• Work closely with senior attorneys and partners on complex legal projects, contributing to strategic case development.
• Regularly handle court appearances and depositions
• Provide clients with timely and informative status reports, ensuring clear and consistent communication.
• Address high-stakes issues, including First Amendment rights, police misconduct, and land use matters.
• Engage in legal research, drafting motions, and preparing for trials.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
• Admission to practice law in the State of New York
• 2+ years of defense litigation experience
• Experience with general liability and municipal liability defense matters.
• Proven expertise in deposition preparation, discovery management, and trial preparation
• Exceptional written and oral communication skills with a focus on clear, concise legal reporting

Salary is $130K-$190K plus bonus!
